FAQs

Is a Tiny House On Wheels the answer to my needs?

A tiny house on wheels might be perfect if you’re looking for housing for family, aging parents, or kids who aren’t ready to buy a home yet. It can also be a great way to create rental income, or simply give yourself extra living space. Some folks even use it for friends in need of a longer stay or as accessible living for mobility challenges. It all comes down to what you want and how you plan to use your property.

What are the possible pitfalls of owning a tiny home on wheels?

Some things to watch out for:

  • Access to your property. Trees, narrow driveways, or tight spaces can be an issue.

  • Utilities. You’ll need power, water, sewer or septic hookups, and sometimes propane.

  • Placement. The only spot you have might block a favorite view.

  • Budget. Costs can vary depending on your build, your credit, and your plans.

We’re happy to help you figure out how to avoid these pitfalls so your tiny house fits your land and your lifestyle.

What is needed to live comfortably?

Living comfortably in a tiny house on wheels depends on you. Do you need a separate bedroom? A big kitchen? A spacious bathroom with a tub? Some folks want a full-size kitchen with lots of counter space, while others are fine with a simpler setup.

At TMH, we design tiny houses with practical layouts — good-sized bathrooms, functional kitchens, and enough space to make it feel like home. We can even add custom features like bookshelves or specialized furniture to match your lifestyle.

Isn't a Tiny House On Wheels tiny?

Tiny houses can definitely be small — but small doesn’t always mean cramped. At TMH, we focus on creating livable, open spaces with many of the same features you’d find in a traditional home.

If you want a super-compact tiny house, we can build that too. But for most people, comfortable living means a bit more space, and that’s what we specialize in.

Our goal is to balance size with comfort, so you can live tiny without feeling squeezed.

How difficult is the upkeep and maintenance of my TMH Tiny House On Wheels?

Upkeep on your TMH tiny house isn’t much different from a regular house. We build with quality, residential-grade materials designed to last — like 40-year standing seam metal roofs and 50-year siding.

Of course, you’ll want to keep your siding and roof clean, especially under trees or in damp climates.

And over time, you may need to re-caulk or touch up paint where it’s exposed to sun and weather. We provide maintenance guidelines to help keep your tiny home looking sharp for decades.

How does TMH Tiny House On Wheels compare to a traditional site-built home?

A TMH tiny house is built a lot like a traditional home — just smaller and on wheels. We use residential-grade materials: solid cabinets, quality fixtures, real wood finishes, durable siding, and standing seam metal roofs with long warranties.

You’ll find the same comforts and quality you’d expect in a site-built house, but in a compact, efficient space that’s movable if you ever need it. Unlike many RVs, our tiny houses are designed for full-time living and built to last for decades.

Why would I choose a TMH Tiny House on Wheels (THOW) over a typical travel trailer or RV?

Great question! It comes down to quality and longevity.

Travel trailers and RVs are built for short-term use with lightweight materials that often wear out fast. Things like plastic fixtures, rubber roofs, and thin siding just don’t hold up over years of everyday living.

A TMH tiny house on wheels is built with residential-grade materials meant for real living. Solid countertops, durable siding, quality fixtures, and roofs built to last. They’re designed for comfort and minimal maintenance — so you’re not constantly fixing things or worrying about leaks.

Our tiny homes on wheels are destination units — meant to be moved if needed but primarily to stay put and provide comfortable living for decades

Is there a warranty? What does it cover?

Absolutely. Your TMH tiny house comes with a one-year craftsmanship warranty from the day it’s delivered. If something’s off — like a crooked piece of trim or a manufacturing defect — we’re there to fix it.

Beyond that, major components carry longer warranties:

  • 40-year warranty on standing seam metal roofs

  • 50-year warranty on residential siding

  • Manufacturer warranties on appliances and fixtures — just like in a traditional home

We include all warranty info with your house so you know exactly what’s covered. Our goal is peace of mind and a tiny house built to last.

What is the process, and how long does it take before I receive my TMH Tiny House On Wheels?

It varies depending on what you’re looking for. If we have a finished tiny house that fits your needs, you could have it delivered within days.

If you’re going custom, the process starts with choosing a floor plan and all your features — from layout to finishes. You can do this in person at our sales center or virtually if you’re remote.

Once everything’s picked out and your order’s finalized, our current build time is about 4 to 5 months. Sometimes it’s faster, sometimes a bit longer, depending on how many homes we’re building.

Before delivery, we’ll do a walk-through with you to make sure everything’s just right. Once delivered, you’ll handle insurance and site hookups (water, power, septic, etc.).

We’re here to help guide you through every step, so it’s as smooth as possible.
